I think you nailed it with your depiction of Jesus physical posture to describe what we know was His spiritual posture. We are called to steward the moment - what ever that moment is - it is a gift, and perhaps the best opportunity we will ever have to give God a praise - a most honorable praise from the lowest possible place. Jesus was all man and did everything (while on earth) as a man by faith - period. Great job - wonderful writing!

Re: Christmas, Meet Gethsemane

Thank you for taking the time to read and comment Jeff. You may be what we would term a "Conductor". Conductors are the fixers or troubleshooters. They are drawn to solving the problems that drive other folks nuts :-). Sound familiar?

Jeff

Re: Career Transition-When Your Passion Eludes You

From your story above I believe I would be the following.

-I’m going to solve the tough problems we encounter

Solving the logistics of how to do something. Although I am not sure what that means for me.

Re: Career Transition-When Your Passion Eludes You

Thanks for commenting Jason. The inverse of the hunting analogy is that if your worried about life hunting you, then consider that it's better to be a moving target than a stationary one.

Re: 84% of Employed to Seek Job Change in 2011. That is exactly how I feel as I am starting my business. I love this transition from doing something that was chosen for me via the entrance to the armed forces to something I want to do. It's nice to come up with the business plan, to work with other people along the way, and people who I've known all along that want to be part of the ride. Yeah, it's like hunting! It's a proactive approach to changing careers. Nice post, Jeff!

Re: Decisions, Decisions

Excellent point Jeff!

Deciding to act is a challenge for some of us.

I think those of us that have an aversion to risk find it easy to make plans but much more difficult to act on those plans because taking action means taking risk. In addition to writing down goals and an action plan, I suggest writing down "worst case scenario's".

Really, what is the worst that can happen? We may discover that when we quantify the risk of failing at our plans is not near as bad as doing nothing.

Joe H.

Re: Over 50 and Looking for Work?

That was disheartening to hear Jeff.
